12/13 Professor Hinestroza delivers invited presentations at several universities in China including Hanzhou Dianzi University in Hanzhou, Jiangnan University in Wuxi and Nanjing Forestry University in Nanjing. The visit to China was also used to explore collaborative research work on water treatement technologies with Chinese faculty. This visit was sponsored by the Lehman Fund for Scholarly Exchange with China managed by The Mario Einaudi Center for International Studies at Cornell University.

We completed our third  5K race of the year, the Chris Bond 5K race in Trumansburg, NY.  Here are the pictures after and before the race. All of us finished the race and enjoyed a beautiful morning in the Finger Lakes Region.

Dr. Zhu, a graduate from Peking and Tulane Universities, comes from NIST and he will work on modeling the flow of nanoparticles through the nanochannels of electret and monoliths. 6/08 Joseph Carlos Becerrill joins our group as a CCMR REU. Joseph will work on Acoustic Force Microscopy Measurements. Joseph is an undergraduate student at University of Texas San Antonio
5/08 Professor Hinestroza is a member of two teams that secured more than $2.2 million from the U.S. Department of Defense to develop advanced fibers and filtration systems potentially capable of rendering toxic materials harmless. Both grants are multi-university collaborative efforts (UCLA and NCSU ) funded through the U.S. Defense Threat Reduction Agency.
